Leading science, pioneering therapies

About us

Scientists and clinicians at the MRC Centre for Regenerative Medicine (CRM) study stem cells, disease and tissue repair to advance human health.

The MRC Centre for Regenerative Medicine was formed in May 2008. To mark 10 years of leading science, we want to recognise some of the people who have made the Centre a success. Over the coming year we'll be telling the stories of some of those people.

The University of Edinburgh has secured funding to build a new Centre for Tissue Repair (CTR). Construction began in October 2017 on the site adjacent to the CRM building and will considerably expand our research capacity when complete.

We are delighted to have been awarded the Athena Swan Silver status in 2015.

The CRM building was purpose built to house over 250 staff, was officially opened by HRH Princess Royal in May 2012 and received substantial funding from the Scottish Government and Scottish Enterprise.
